Assembly & Installation Guide
Every Keter shed ships flat-packed and requires assembly. Here’s what to actually expect before it arrives.
Tools You’ll Need
Most Keter sheds are designed to go together with common household tools — typically a Phillips screwdriver (or a drill with a Phillips bit), a rubber mallet, and a step ladder for the larger models. Keter includes all the fasteners and panel-specific hardware in the box; you generally won’t need to buy anything extra to complete assembly.
How Long Does It Take?
Assembly time depends heavily on shed size and whether you’re working alone or with a second person:
- Compact units(Store It Out, Elite Store, Premier Tall, High Store) — typically 1–2 hours solo.
- Small–medium sheds(Darwin, Manor Pent) — usually a half-day project, easier with two people.
- Medium–large sheds(Cortina, Manor, Signature 7x7) — typically a full day, and a second person is strongly recommended for lifting roof panels into place.
- Large sheds(Stronghold, Cortina/Signature 11x7) — often a full weekend project. Two people is close to required here, not just recommended, given panel size and weight.
Before It Arrives: Site Prep
Most Keter sheds include a floor panel, but the ground underneath still needs to be level and stable — a soft or uneven base is the most common cause of doors that won’t close properly after assembly. A compacted gravel or paver base is ideal; a reasonably flat, firm lawn area will also work for smaller sheds. For anything in our Large size tier, we’d recommend a proper foundation (concrete pad, deck, or paver base) given the weight involved.
Official Step-by-Step Instructions
Every shed comes with a printed instruction manual in the box. If you want to preview the steps before it arrives, or need a replacement copy, Keter publishes official assembly instructions for every model on their own site: keter.com/en-us/assembly-instructions.
